Draghi Comments on Euro Zone Economy
Statement on 15 April, 2016 Mr. Mario Draghi passed the following comments on euro area economy:
- Euro-zone economy is continuing recovery.
- Eur area growth remains faced with uncertainty.
- Fear of downside risks of growth in emerging market economies.
- Future outlook of oil prices risk for inflation.
- ECB has adopted policy to further ease financing conditions in the euro area.
- Stimulate bank lending.
- Cyclical recovery in euro area by developments in private consumption and investment.
- Recent data provide some mixed signals.
- Hard data show some improvement in January and February.
- Growth momentum is weaker in first quarter.
- ECB may further extend the asset purchase programme with other measures.
- TLTRO II operations provide to banks to borrow liquidity for 4 years.
- Stability in our banking sector has improved significantly.
